2021 FIA Formula 3 champion Dennis Hauger will join Dutch outfit MP Motorsport for his second season in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. The 19-year-old Norwegian has high hopes of being among the category’s frontrunners in 2023, as he joins forces with the team that has produced this season’s champion.
Hauger will get his first taste of an MP Motorsport Formula 2 car in the Abu Dhabi post-season test following the final round of the 2022 season at the Yas Marina circuit. MP has signed the Norwegian for all three days of the test, with the intention of helping him quickly acclimatise with the team that is currently jointly leading the teams’ championship. In his rookie season in Formula 2, Hauger took two victories already – in the sprint race at Monaco and the feature race at Baku – and is looking to finish on a high in the season finale in Abu Dhabi, with the aim of breaking into the top ten in the final standings.
