About Jan Joost Folmer
Jan Joost loves F1 in all it’s aspects, but he is especially interested in the history of the sport and most of all the stories and special events that all together make this history. By reading about the past and present of F1 he tries to understand the backgrounds of F1 racing. By sharing these stories he hopes to clear out some of the mysteries that make F1 the greatest sporting event on earth.
He picked up the fascination for the sport in the year that Mario Andretti became world champion, and he witnessed the danger of motorsport when Ronnie Peterson fatally crashed at Monza in 1978. Ever since following Formula one and especially the Dutch heroes as Gijs van Lennep, Michael Bleekemolen and of course the Verstappens.
